At just 24 years old, Agostina Galimberti has already made a significant mark in both the world of sports and entrepreneurship. While field hockey has been her lifelong passion, her entrepreneurial drive led her to establish Vixon over two years ago, turning her vision of innovation in sports training into reality.
Vixon recently gained international recognition by winning the “Best Emerging Company” award in Egypt at Soccerex MENA, an event that brings together top global football industry players. This milestone highlights the impact of Vixon’s technology, which enhances athletes’ cognitive performance using AI-powered LED vests that change colors based on real-time data analysis.
Innovating Sports Training with AI and LED Technology
Vixon’s groundbreaking technology offers a comprehensive approach to performance tracking. The smart vests analyze reaction times, movement patterns, and team dynamics, allowing coaches to implement real-time adjustments. These insights help athletes improve reaction speed, decision-making, and visual-motor coordination.
“For over two years, we have worked relentlessly to develop this project. We created Vixon with the conviction that we could unlock athletes’ full potential by training not only their bodies but also their minds,” said Agostina Galimberti in an interview with Ámbito. “Our technology bridges the gap between physical, tactical, and technical training with cognitive development, all within real-game scenarios.”
Vixon’s AI-driven system enables coaches to fine-tune training sessions, boosting players’ focus, reaction speed, and decision-making skills under pressure. The real-time feedback provided by the system allows for personalized training adjustments, optimizing each athlete’s development.
Securing Investment and Future Growth
Vixon’s innovative approach has attracted investors, including support from the Mar del Plata-based accelerator Neutrón. The startup is now preparing for a new growth phase, with plans to open a funding round in April to expand operations further.
From Field Hockey to Entrepreneurship
Agostina’s journey as an entrepreneur is deeply rooted in her sports background. “Field hockey has been an essential part of my life since childhood. I grew up in a family deeply connected to the sport—my mother was a former Argentine national team player, and my uncle played for Club Mitre, the same club where I spent most of my youth,” she explained.
At 18, she took her passion for hockey abroad, playing in Australia and Germany. These experiences exposed her to different training methodologies, sparking her vision for Vixon. “The significant differences in training approaches between Europe and Argentina inspired me to create a solution that would revolutionize sports training in my home country.”
Versatility Across Multiple Sports
Vixon’s adaptability is one of its key strengths. While initially designed for team sports like soccer, basketball, hockey, futsal, and handball, it has also shown remarkable success in individual sports such as tennis. Athletes and coaches alike have praised its effectiveness in enhancing cognitive and motor skills.
“Our team at Vixon combines expertise in sports science, neuroscience, and technology. We collaborate with hardware and software specialists to ensure continuous innovation and refinement of our platform,” Agostina emphasized.
A Resounding International Debut
Vixon’s presentation at Soccerex MENA in Egypt exceeded all expectations. “The response was phenomenal. Attendees showed immense interest in our project, and event organizers were so impressed that they personally invited us to participate in the next edition,” Galimberti shared.
This exposure has opened doors for collaboration and expansion into international markets. “The overwhelmingly positive feedback validates our work and strengthens our commitment to further innovation in sports technology.”
A Resilient Entrepreneur’s Vision
Reflecting on her journey, Agostina defines herself as an entrepreneur who thrives on challenges. “What sets me apart is my ability to turn obstacles into opportunities. My resilience has been crucial in overcoming barriers throughout this process. I have always found strength in every ‘it’s not possible.’”
With her relentless drive and innovative mindset, Agostina Galimberti is poised to continue transforming the landscape of sports training worldwide.
