More than twenty Argentine companies will participate in the Argentine delegation at Vitrina Turística ANATO 2025, Colombia’s most important tourism trade fair. Argentina will have a dedicated stand at the event, providing these firms with the opportunity to establish business connections with tourism operators from around the world.
The delegation will be led by Daniel Scioli, Argentina’s Secretary of Tourism, Environment, and Sports, and will include provincial and local tourism authorities. Their goal is to promote Argentina’s diverse destinations to the more than 50,000 professional visitors attending the three-day event.
Colombia: A Key Market for Argentine Tourism
Colombia is a priority market for Argentina’s inbound tourism sector. In 2024, nearly 150,000 Colombian tourists visited Argentina, marking a 5% year-over-year increase. These visitors collectively spent $83 million, with an average stay of 17 days. Their preferred activities included exploring Argentina’s rich cultural offerings and enjoying its renowned gastronomy. Notably, 60% of Colombian travelers arrived by air.
This rise in Colombian tourist arrivals is partly due to the increased number of flights between Bogotá and Buenos Aires. In March, Scioli met with Avianca executives to encourage the airline to expand its operations in Argentina under President Javier Milei’s open skies policy. Following the meeting, Avianca made history by scheduling three daily flights between Bogotá and Buenos Aires for the first time. Additionally, in June, the airline launched direct flights between Medellín and Buenos Aires.
Scioli’s Agenda at ANATO 2025
During ANATO 2025, Scioli will take part in the opening ceremony and hold a meeting with Colombia’s Vice Minister of Tourism, Juan Manrique. He will also engage in discussions with representatives from Avianca, Aviatur, Despegar, and Viajes Falabella, among other key industry stakeholders.
A Strategic Event for the Americas
The Vitrina Turística ANATO, organized annually by the Colombian Association of Travel Agencies and Tourism, is a pivotal event for tourism markets across the Americas. The 44th edition of the fair is scheduled to take place from February 26 to 28, 2025. In its previous edition, ANATO facilitated approximately 22,000 business meetings with private exhibitors from over thirty countries.
Argentina’s presence at ANATO 2025 underscores its commitment to strengthening its position as a top travel destination for Colombian tourists and fostering business opportunities within the global tourism industry.
